NOAA Ship Fairweather surveyed a 96-ft. World War II-era tugboat that sank in Alaska's Gastineau Channel on Sept. 12. Fairweather, a hydrographic survey vessel, imaged the wreck and provided the data to the Coast Guard, which responded to the sinking. No one was reported to be on board the vintage tugboat, named Challenger, when it went down.
