On Oct. 8, NOAA Ship Henry B. Bigelow rendered assistance to a commercial fishing vessel, M/V Destiny, during a groundfish survey on Georges Bank in the Atlantic. Destiny lost power while on its way to New Jersey after fishing for swordfish on the Flemish Cap. Bigelow delivered batteries to the vessel, enabling the crew to restart its generator, restore propulsion and continue on its voyage home.
