NOAA Corps to offer direct-to-flight career path

The NOAA Commissioned Officer Corps will be holding a unique opportunity for licensed pilots to apply for a direct-to-flight career pathway into the NOAA Corps.

Applicants must possess a valid FAA commercial multi-engine license with instrument rating in addition to the standard eligibility requirements to qualify. Applicants selected by the aviation-specific Basic Officer Training Class (BOTC) 144 Board will undergo medical and administrative screening, to include a flight physical, security clearance, and drug testing. Cleared officer candidates will report for duty at NOAA's Aircraft Operations Center following successful completion of BOTC 144, which will be held from July - November, 2024 at the US Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut.

NOAA's aircraft fly a multitude of pivotal science missions including, but not limited to, coastal mapping, marine mammal surveys, airborne snow surveys, and the famed hurricane hunter operations. Pilots, don't miss your chance to apply for this unique direct-to-flight opportunity.
