Objective: Prepare NOAA Divers and topside support personnel to safely conduct diving operations using tethered communications.
Note: The NOAA Diving Program (NDP) provides training primarily to NOAA employees that are authorized by their supervisors to dive as part of their job description. However, NDP also welcomes federal, state, and local government employees for a fee into its courses as space permits. Please contact NDP Support(link sends e-mail) for updated fees if you are not a NOAA employee. Classes are not open to the public.

The NOAA Tethered Communications course is an intensive one-week program that includes theoretical and practical instruction for NOAA Divers and topside personnel. All students learn how to use specialized equipment and practice using them in various roles that include topside tender, standby diver, and diver.

Prerequisites:
- NOAA Diver (for scuba divers)
- Familiarity with diving operations (for non-diving topside support)
- CPR, AED and first aid certificates (current during the entire class: certificates that expire during class are not acceptable)

- SEP diving equipment

All application materials must be RECEIVED by the NOAA Diving Center 30 days prior to the course start date. They can be e-mailed to the Diving Center at Support.NDC@NOAA.gov.
Include copies of your CPR, AED & First Aid certificates (these should be current through the end of class)
