On Sept. 22, 2016, hurricane scientist Frank Marks, Sc.D., director of the Hurricane Research Division at NOAA's Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory, and NOAA Lockheed WP-3D Orion pilot and NOAA Corps officer Cmdr. Justin Kibbey took questions during an edition of the Reddit Science Ask Me Anything (AMA) Series focused on the science of hurricane hunting. During a two-hour segment, the two answered questions about hurricane reconnaissance and prediction, storm flights, paths to becoming a hurricane hunter, storm characteristics and much more.
