LT MacGregor joined the U.S. Public Health Service in August 2014 and currently serves as the Deputy Chief in the Medical Affairs Branch for the NOAA Commissioned Personnel Center.  She works to ensure the readiness of the NOAA Corps Officers by performing regular clinical review of their health status, and providing case management for officers who are ill or injured.

LT MacGregor is a nurse practitioner with a foundation in adult primary care and specialty training in issues surrounding women and health. She brings that expertise to a scientific office welcoming increasing numbers of women into marine and aviation operational settings. Prior to working with NOAA, she provided clinical care to incarcerated women in a community mental health treatment setting.

To complement her clinical training, LT MacGregor completed a Master of Public Health in health policy and clinical practice, from the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, through their health policy institute. Her Master of Science in advanced practice nursing is from Yale University, and her Bachelor of Arts in the History of Science and Medicine is from Yale College.

LT MacGregor serves as a faculty support in the division of Global Health at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, lectures regularly at Yale University School of Nursing, and Fairfield University. She deployed domestically during the 2016 Democratic National Convention, the 2017 Presidential Inauguration, and served as a ship medical officer onboard a hydrographic mission for NOAA in 2019.

As a clinical provider, LT MacGregor sustains her advanced practice, and registered nursing licensure through the state of Connecticut, and is board certified in Advanced Practice Women’s Health by the National Certification Corporation, and in Adult and Gerontology by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board.

LT MacGregor maintains professional memberships in the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States, the Commissioned Officers Association of the US Public Health Service, and the American Public Health Association.
