Project: Rockfish Recruitment and Ecosystem Assessment
NOAA Ship Bell M. Shimada is conducting a juvenile rockfish and ecosystem survey of the northern California Current. The ship is also collecting data on prevailing ocean conditions, examining prominent hydrographic features, and collecting acoustic data for mapping the distribution of fish and krill. In addition, rearchers are observing seabird and marine mammal distribution and abundance. This is a NOAA Fisheries Northwest Fisheries Science Center project.
