Project: Hawaiian Islands Cetacean and Ecosystem Assessment Survey
The Hawaiian Islands Cetacean and Ecosystem Assessment Survey (HICEAS) project is a marine mammal assessment survey of the waters of the Hawaiian Island Chain extending offshore to the limits of the U.S. Exclusive Economic Zone (200 miles from land). The overall objective of the HICEAS project is to estimate the abundance and understand the distribution of dolphins and whales which are commonly found in the waters around the Hawaiian Islands.
