Marine Medicine
The Marine Medicine Branch (MMB) within NOAA’s Office of Health Services is dedicated to supporting OMAO ships and improving mariner readiness and wellness by performing medical screenings of all personnel before sailing, implementing preventative medicine programs, and delivering urgent and emergency medical support while underway. Emergency consultation assistance is also provided 24/7 to the sailing U.S. Public Health Service medical officers and medical persons in charge (MPICs) via phone.
