Today, NOAA Marine and Aviation Operations solidified a 10-year agreement with the U.S. Coast Guard to deliver critical maritime infrastructure around the country. This $2 billion agreement reflects a shared commitment to strengthening mission readiness through a coordinated and efficient approach to facility planning, design and construction.

The Coast Guard is advancing a significant portfolio of infrastructure investments on accelerated timelines. This agreement formalizes a long-standing collaboration between the agencies and provides a framework to deliver infrastructure more effectively in shared locations.

NOAA will support these efforts by bringing recent, hands-on experience delivering complex marine and shore-based facilities. In recent years, NOAA Marine and Aviation Operations has completed construction on a port facility in Ketchikan, Alaska. Two other facilities are nearing completion–a pier facility in Charleston, South Carolina and a new marine operations center in Newport, Rhode Island
